Paint Like Bob Ross

Join Ted Simpson, Certified Bob Ross Instructor, as we have our fourth oil painting class at the Plymouth Artist Collective, located inside the PARC - Plymouth Arts & Recreation Complex in beautiful Downtown Plymouth.

We will create an entire painting in just a few hours, and begin our journey into the techniques of wet on wet painting that Bob entertained us on TV for so long.

The cost is $60 per person and we have a limit in this class of 12 people. All supplies are included and NO experience is needed.

Art journaling is a wonderful way to work through the creative process and for unleashing your creative potential. Join us at our monthly events to meet other art journaling enthusiasts, share our art with each other, and learn about different techniques for using in sketchbooks. There are many different types of art journals from playful doodling sketchbooks or bullet journals, to creative idea books and therapeutic art journals, every style is welcome and celebrated at our events. We will also have tea and snacks available for everyone to enjoy.

January 15th: Intro to Bullet Journaling
Time: 7 pm to 9 pm
For ages 16 and up

Preteen/Teen Artist Journaling Club

Art journaling is a wonderful way for teens to practice expression in a healthy way while also helping them learn to work through the creative process to be able to unleash their creative potential. During our monthly events they'll get to meetup with other art enthusiasts, share about their journal art projects, and learn about different techniques to use in sketchbooks. There are many different types of art journals from playful doodling sketchbooks or bullet journals, to creative idea books and therapeutic art journals, every style is welcome and celebrated at our events. We will also have an after school snack for everyone to enjoy.

January 15th: Intro to Bullet Journaling (with ideas for school planners)
Time: 5 pm to 6 pm
For ages 10 to 15

Join us in December and January for our special Winter Holiday FREE Community Maker Days!

For December we'll have a special storytime and art activity, and more paint pouring fun as we decorate ornaments for the holidays. Then in January during the Plymouth Ice Fest come warm up inside the studio with our colorful pancake art breakfast fundraiser.

During our Maker Days community members can come tinker, experiment, and create alongside local makers of all ages during a fun day of exploring creativity through art and design!

These events honor the creative process with hands-on activities for all ages to try out at the Plymouth Artist Collective. Each month we have a special craft, and community art projects like kindness rock painting, card making for children's hospitals or military care packages, a collaborative painting, and artist trading cards.

Dates: December 14th, January 11th
Time: 11 am to 3 pm
Admission: $5 suggested donation

Community Maker Day - Gratitude!

During our Maker Days community members can come tinker, experiment, and create alongside local makers of all ages during a fun day of exploring creativity through art and design!

These events honor the creative process with hands-on activities for all ages to try out at the Plymouth Artist Collective or at events around the Metro Detroit area. At each event we feature a special theme with simple crafts to make-and-take that day, along with open studio time for creative exploration with maker materials.

We are asking friends, family and patrons to help support our maker day program through donations and sharing about our cause. All the donations will go towards the operating costs for these events, which includes the purchasing of art materials and supplies. We are committed to growing our community programs to help bring STEM and art education to more members of our community. Donations help us continue these programs and are greatly appreciated.


In November in honor of the holiday season we will be making gratitude trees along with having our final care package donation drive and card making craft.

BYOPlant Macrame Plant Hanger Workshop

$35 - After an introduction to macrame techniques, you'll learn to make a plant hanger step-by-step, simply by tying knots. The knots this class focuses on are: square, spiral and gathering. BYOPlant in its small to medium sized pot, keeping in mind that the top hangs from a wooden ring, so the plant should not be more eight pounds (4" Muskot or Papaja pots from Ikea are a perfect size) - all other supplies included. Ages 13+.
